Slides now available – UKUPC webinar on The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, also known as Martyn’s Law.

Back To Knowledge Hub

Launching the latest series of UKUPC-hosted webinars, UKUPC members were invited to join Weightmans LLP for an informative session on The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, commonly referred to as Martyn’s Law. This pivotal proposed legislation aims to strengthen security and preparedness at publicly accessible premises.

Tailored for procurement and compliance professionals, the webinar provided key insights into:
✔️ Understand the core provisions and objectives of the bill.
✔️ Assess its potential impact on premises management and operational compliance.
✔️ Identify procurement considerations to meet legislative requirements.

The session was ably taken by Elliott Kenton, Partner at Weightmans LLP, Solicitor and legal expert in criminal and regulatory matters. A significant part of his practice is advising dutyholders in health and safety matters and as part of this, Elliott has provided advice to a number of prospective dutyholders on the bill and its implications.

The webinar was an essential opportunity to stay informed on upcoming legislative changes, ensuring organisations are prepared, and looking at ways protect your premises effectively while aligning with compliance requirements.
