The White Goods & Associated Products & Services Framework has been divided into the following regional lots:

The scope is the same for both Lots 1 and 2, with the two lots having different regional coverage. 

• Lot 1 – White Goods & Associated Products & Services (Great Britain & British Isles)
• Lot 2 – White Goods & Associated Products & Services (Northern Ireland)

Scope of the Framework:

The White Goods & Associated Products & Services Framework  has been established for the provision of the following goods:

Ovens, Fridges, Fridge-freezers, Freezers, Washing Machines, Washer/Dryers, Tumble Dryers,  Dishwashers, Kettles, Toasters, Microwaves, Microwave & Grill,  Steam Irons, Heaters, Sandwich Toasters and Rice Cookers and other large and small electrical appliances to Member Institutions located in Great Britain and the British Isles.  These products will be utilised in the following areas: Student Accommodation, Offices, Hotels and other additional types of accommodation. This list is not exhaustive.

The scope also includes, spare parts and services such as installation though it was not a mandatory requirement of the agreement that suppliers were able to provide these additional services.

Key benefits of using the Framework:

• Advantageous pricing based on economies of scale from aggregated spend which is fixed for 12 months.
• Access to services supporting the maintenance of assets and the compliant disposal of redundant assets through a variety of routes that maximise the higher tiers of the waste hierarchy.
• A single exercise to establish the overarching agreement and establish the Terms and Conditions of the Framework.
• Reduced administrative effort and associated cost savings.
• The development of a longer term relationship with suppliers which is mutually beneficial.
• You have the ability to call off from the agreement as and when required rather than needing to undertake a full tender process.
• The Framework allows for the flexibility to determine specific requirements at the call off stage.
• Framework Agreements support longer term business planning as they span a period of typically four years and allow some stability from market fluctuations.
• NWUPC and your Consortium will provide contract management support to you.

How do I buy from the framework?

This Framework Agreement allows you to buy through three options. Direct award, desktop exercise or mini competition. You should choose the option most appropriate to your purchase taking into consideration; your Organisational Procurement Guidance and Financial Regulations, the products you wish to purchase and the specific requirements of your organisation.

How has Responsible Procurement been considered as part of the tender?

When the Supplier has been engaged for installation, the Supplier will remove and dispose of any related waste packaging as required by the Member Institution free of charge.  The packaging will be recycled where possible.

Suppliers must endeavour where possible not to utilise any filler that is made from non-recyclable materials, particularly plastics or polystyrene in the delivery of goods purchased through this Framework.  Where suppliers are distributing boxed end products from a third party they are required to work with their supply chain to remove the use of these materials from their fulfilment process.  Progress against these aims will form part of the discussion at contract management meetings.

Member Institutions reserve the right to require all supplier personnel, including but not limited to delivery staff, who access Member Institutions’ premises to have a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certification where deemed necessary.

As discussed above, the agreement includes repair and maintenance services within scope; along with recycling and disposal services which rewarded schemes which optimise this higher levels of the waste hierarchy.

At Selection Suppliers were assessed for:

• Compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
• Payment of the Real Living Wage
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity
• Carbon Reduction Plan
