4-module Modern Slavery training course with Electronics Watch
NWUPC Members have been invited to register for an online course with Electronics Watch exploring modern slavery in supply chains. The course is tailored to the public procurement context and is designed to equip public procurement authorities and their suppliers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to identify, address, mitigate, and help prevent modern slavery, particularly forced labour, within their supply chains.
The training was produced jointly by Electronics Watch, the Universities of Newcastle and Sussex, NHS Commercial Solutions, the Greater London Authority Group, and the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). An overview of the course is available below. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Define modern slavery, particularly forced labour and indicators thereof in.
- Explain how modern slavery affects individuals, communities, and organisations.
- Identify and assess modern slavery risks within your supply chains.
- Evaluate evidence of compliance with labour standards and ethical sourcing practices.
- Embed measures to prevent and address modern slavery into your procurement and supplier engagement processes.
- Fulfil your remedy obligations and support the meaningful engagement of stakeholders in your supply chains.
- Demonstrate confidence and competence in making ethical, informed decisions within your professional role.
