NWUPC

The NWUPC Team are delighted to announce the launch of the new Apple Equipment & Associated Services Framework (ITS3028 NW).  This framework brings together the 2 previous Apple Frameworks – Individual and National into a singular framework.

Both the Individual and National Apple Frameworks will continue to run concurrently next to the new framework until their end dates of 31^st October 2025. The new framework will run from the 18^th September 2025 to 31^st July 2027 with two 12-month extension options until 31^st July 2029. The framework is open to NWUPC, APUC, HEPCW, LUPC, NEUPC, and SUPC members.

The new framework has been established for the provision of the following goods: 

Apple manufactured equipment utilising the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) operating systems (currently MacOS, iPadOS, iOS and Watch OS) and any future additional proprietary operating systems which may be implemented during the period covered by the Framework.

• Savings can be base lined by comparing prices with the prices you previously paid.
• Reduced administrative effort and associated cost savings.
• Multiple methods of call-off including direct award, desktop exercise and full mini-competition including permitted variation of weightings.
• You have the ability to call off from the framework as and when required rather than needing to undertake a full tender process.
• NWUPC and your Consortium will provide contract management support to you should you experience any issues with suppliers and will act in your best interests.
• Access to products with recognised sustainability standards.
• More advantageous pricing based on economies of scale from aggregated spend.
• Minimum 3 year collect and return warranty included in price on all MacOS, iPadOS and iOS devices
• Additional benefits and savings available for commitment and/or bulk purchases
• Volume related discounts

• Suppliers capable of integrating with institutional e-procurement solutions
• All suppliers appointed are Authorised Apple Education Specialists

Staff and students will be required to provide evidence of member institution in a method deemed acceptable by the supplier.

How do I buy from the framework?

This Framework allows you to buy through three options. Direct award, desktop exercise or mini competition. You should choose the option most appropriate to your purchase taking into consideration; your Organisational Procurement Guidance and Financial Regulations, the products you wish to purchase and the specific requirements of your organisation.

How has Responsible Procurement been considered as part of the tender?

The NETpositive Supplier Engagement Tool will be used as part of contract management. The UKUPC Supply Chain Code of Conduct was issued to suppliers as part of this tender. The Electronics Watch Contract Conditions was issued to suppliers as part of this tender.

At Selection Suppliers were assessed for:

• Compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
• Payment of the Real Living Wage
• Carbon Reduction Plan

Recognising both the environmental and social risks associated with in-scope products, with the award criteria, suppliers were asked questions on the following topics:

• Labour Conditions
• Reduction in Packaging
• Secure Asset Disposal
• End-of-life Management Services
• Environmental impact of service delivery
• Carbon Footprint Impact Reduction
