Green Gown Awards 2021 Finalists Announced

 
 
This years finalists for the Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland have been announced with 3 NWUPC Member institutions chosen. The awards emphasise an institution’s role in enabling and empowering young people to tackle pressing global issues. With 90 Finalists across 15 categories, representing 51 institutions, this years Green Gown Awards covers a large and diverse range of areas from the Sustainability Institution of the Year Award to Student Engagement and Benefitting Society categories.
Reflecting on this year’s submissions, Iain Patton, CEO, EAUC says "A reset of our economic and social foundations is happening and the Green Gown Awards are all the more important to inspire and scale change for sustainability".
 

This year 3 NWUPC Members have been shortlisted in the below categories alongside Serena Bashal of Keele University for Student Sustainability Champion.

Benefitting Society
  • University of Worcester - Sustainable Young Minds: Joining forces with school and housing associations to increase community recycling
Next Generation Learning and Skills
  • The University of Liverpool - Sustainability in Action: A short interactive online course designed by students for students introducing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
Research with Impact – Institution
  • Lancaster University - Thinking globally, working locally: Co-developing net zero solutions at scale
