The main aim of NWUPC is to deliver value for money in all aspects of purchasing for its member institutions. In 2000, NWUPC developed a regional procurement training programme. This programme has been so successful that it has been extended nationally.

NUWPC's Training Team's main objective is to enhance procurement skills and expertise; to help achieve this objective we have developed a training programme which includes:

National Vocational Qualifications

We are an Edexcel & OCR NVQ Accredited Centre and a CIPS approved training provider able to offer Supply Chain Management NVQs at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. NWUPC are also able to give candidates the flexibility of working with 'e' portfolios using a web based software system.

To help support NVQ candidates, NWUPC have developed comprehensive support material including workbooks for SCM levels 2 and 3 and have also produced a suite of training videos which are available free of charge to registered candidates.

Continuing Professional Development

NWUPC's training team are also committed to designing and facilitating a series of one day seminars and workshops aimed at developing the skills and expertise of procurement professionals. Our NVQ candidates are also invited to attend relevant seminars and workshops.
