Xchange System

JISC Procureweb is pleased to announce the launch of their Xchange system, http://xchange.procureweb.ac.uk . This is an upgrade to the existing system with added functionality.

The online portal will help institutions meet their sustainable agendas and save money. Institutions who sell items will potentially benefit from additional income and institutions buying items will be able to stretch their budgets through a reduction in the asset purchase price compared to new pricing.

The new system is now available and populated with a large number of adverts.

The site will allow users to post advertisements for items they no longer require. The advertisements can be made available to the whole of the education sector or restricted to a user's local institution. Functionality has been added to allow much more information to be added to an advert including the uploading of supporting files and images.

Based on the current JISC Procureweb Xchange system, the site has been completely redesigned with a modern look and feel and aims to make retrieving data easier.

The system will allow users to register an interest in advertisements and manage communication with the seller. Xchange will fully support mechanisms such as RSS and web services so that data can be displayed on any other web sites.

Xchange will provide email updates when users register an interest in an advert and optionally when new adverts are put onto the system.
